Holiday Walks

We have been on Christmas Holiday here since Thursday afternoon, spending lots of time at home and taking long walks every afternoon while dinner cooks.  The thermometer hovers right below freezing, making for good footing.  6" of snow fell last night.
Crystal Mountain, wrapped in clouds.

The wintry view this afternoon from Hungry Point.
The high tide obliterated any possibility of walking the beach.
Lots of lights add color to our black and white world.
At the mouth of the Narrows, looking at Petersburg Mountain.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

  1. Wow, thank you for the photos. It is so different from our relatively hot wet weather. Flooding here.

How long is your daylight this time of year?

  2. And to you also - I like the truly determined festiveness of the incomplete hpuse.

  3. Zom, sunrise is at 8:29, with sunset at 3:16 today. I took my morning walk a bit later than usual (it is Sunday here) at 7, and didn't need my flash light. Venus is burning bright in the east sky.
Artsparker, this house is very old, and is being renovated by our friend whose nick name is Johnny Swan. That red tree!

  4. Merry Christmas to you. Should I tell you I went for a swim at the beach on Christmas day? The funny thing is all Christmas decorations here incorporate snow. People spray fake snow around their windows and we have pine Christmas trees too. Guess we can't escape our origins from the North.
