Daily Drawing and the Latest Blossom

pigma pen and prismacolor pencil in 8x6 Gamma
Early in the week, I was sunk in a fog of self-imposed, self-centered gloom, living in the past and the future - both real bad neighborhoods.
'Web of Spring' - watercolor and inktense pencils in 8x6 Gamma
No amount of glorious spring rain or prayers for help could lift my heart.  God seemed remote as the moon.
'Deer Girl' - pigma pen and prismacolor pencils in 8x6 Gamma
Yesterday God's help came in the form of a listening ear and wise words from a fellow human being - angels suddenly apparent everywhere.  My stick said 'Live and Let Live'.
Heart soars again in this day...
...this moment, this morning hour when everything is just as it should be and I don't feel compelled to judge any of the amazing NOW.   Hey, thanks God, for doing for me what I cannot do for myself once again.
The first salmon berry blossoms are here!

  1. First: that salmonberry flower is a beauty! (never heard of)
Second: despite the gloomy face I really had to smile about the red buttons !!
Third: do you turn your paper around every now and then ?
Fourth(and the best): it seems a bit like an open door and you never really think about it,but: when you need it most, help is always near ! Glad you found a loving friend who provided some time to listen and the right words to your problems, chin up again ! (you know, next time around YOU will be the good friend for someone else ;-)) !!!)

  2. the visual resonance of the art with the journey seems especially striking in this post
so glad you had an angel appear, sometimes the best angels have feet, not wings
thanks for the reminder that we can all be an angel to someone today

  3. I like what Kel May says. I have been in the place you have been many times and probably will many times again. Thank you for sharing your humanness.
Your art work here is deeply felt. I love the first drawing.beautiful lines of a girl slightly off center. Happy to see your heart soar again!

  4. Glad you're feeling better. Love the drawings. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xox

  5. oh wow, i love your paintings, sus... and i agree with ramona, i'm happy to see your heart soar again.

  6. Thank you, all, for your kind comments! Salmonberry flower is the precursor to the salmonberry, a useful edible berry similar in looks to a raspberry but much blander. We make jelly by blending their juice with apple juice. I do turn my paper around , yes – something useful I learned in art school.
And you are so true, next time I will be the listener – don’t you love how our helping hands weave back and forth! Happy week to all, sus

  7. wonderful that you found a blessing to help you take another step. your arts are wonderful, each one.

  8. Funny how He does that! Email me for a chat if you like or if you're on facebook (which I started up again due to the daughter's complaints) friend me! xo
Oh...and I love those red buttons on the coat!

I love to hear from you - please leave me a note.
