My Mother and I rediscovered our love of beading on fabric
when we participated in Larkin Jean Van
Horn’s ‘Beaded Boxes’ class at TACtile in Denver last Sunday.
TACtile –
Textile Arts Center – is a wonderful facility and well worth the time to visit
if you have the opportunity.

I am so lucky to share my Mother's love and passion for the arts (and to be able to borrow from her large-ish bead stash)! |
These are the sides of my three-sided box, with beading still in progress. |
I think it has been over a year since I did a beading
project. I am really having fun reconnecting with my inner raven! What activity have you re-discovered
lately?
What a gorgeous art centre! Lucky you spending time creating with your mom!

Hi Sus
ReplyDeleteI thought I would pop over to your side of the world for a visit......I love crafting with my Ma too she is so much better at it than me :)
Ive rediscovered recently my art I was all design for a long while now it is art I trained as an artist but went to the other side to make ends meet but finally have been able to find my way back to it.
I love the fact that you live on a small island off of Alaska I used to live on the other small island in the other direction - Tasmania. Im a small island girl at heart ;)
I have been itching to do some stitching. I set myself up last night with the jean jacket and did some running stitch. There is something about a needle and thread.
ReplyDeleteI have also been eyeing the beads. It has been probably 5 years since I have beaded. I love it but I am not much of a jewellery wearer, or not beaded jewellery. I bet I could come up with something though.
