Burlesque - DC Dances On

The morning walk is a non-negotiable part of my day for many reasons, not the least of which is the quality thinking time it provides.  My mind rambles freely between conversation with my Higher Power and thoughts about the day ahead.  Sometimes I am even blessed with the inner-silence that comes when I am fully present in the beauty of the moment.  And sometimes inspiration for an art project pops into consciousness, as happened yesterday in response to this week's Drawing Challenge, Burlesque.  I couldn't wait to get to the studio!

Lots more Burlesque is going on over at Tania's extraordinary contrarian blog.  Have a look and perhaps a laugh with us!

  3. they hootchie kootchie pop out! oh my!!! it's so sweet and funny to see these, because i seem to have been musing upon a similar track, albeit i found a cut out leg on my desk, from a victorian doll under construction, and i altered the atmosphere into something darker, and i stayed 2D. but i LOVE what you fixed here, it works!! so funny and quirky. goodie!!

[i'm wondering, sus. what do you do when you fail a walk (even if it's non negotiable)? i mean, i used to be a walker, and now i'm not anymore, it seems, and i don't know what happened...? i agree on the thinking time tank. so, where do i do my thinking then?

i know! i just got to start walking again, don't i?]

  7. Susan, congratulations!
Your idea is fantastic! I followed step by step the process because I had no idea how it would end. and the ending is amazing!
I love to see how to build the artwork, I love seeing the step by step, as I think to myself, I can draw a leg on paper, I can cut it with scissors, I can paint it, but the talent of this artist is not mine. this piece of art I'm seeing is unique. only this person can do it.
    congratulations!!!!
